Program Description The objective of the training is to provide the trainee with fundamental HVAC skills enabling each person to effectively enter the workforce at Appolo Heating.
Our training program structure is a proven method that includes a combination of classroom training, classroom hands-on training (Lab) and field mentoring. This structure will enable trainees to better understand the “why” and “how” through classroom training before actually performing a given task and observing the results in the hands-on/lab setting. Ultimately this background knowledge will be put into practice in actual field work.
The fundamentals of training will include the theory, operation and installation of residential heating systems, the theory, operation and installation of residential cooling systems, indoor air quality, air flow and the fundamentals of electricity including how to use a hand held volt meter (VOM) and basic troubleshooting.

Selected students will be under continual review and assessment during the 10-week program, and will receive a grade of Pass or Fail at the end of the program. Students who are not performing to expectations during the program may be terminated before the completion of the program.
Employment & Expectations
All students in the program will be employees of Appolo and will be paid at NYS minimum wage for the duration of the program. Upon graduation, they will be paid a post-training rate when they begin work. Like all employees, they are “at will” employees and employment can be terminated by either party at any time. All employees will be given a 90-day, six-month, and then annual review.
Salary Progression
Upon graduation from the program, all students will be paid at the same “post training” wage. Salary progression from that point forward will be based on the individual’s performance, the average wage in the department within which they work, and by reviewing internal equity, with a goal to advance the students along an upward salary/career path.
